| Abstract | 본고의 목적은 티벳불교에서 중관을 근본으로 하면서 여래장에 대한 다양한 해석을 하고 있는데, 그중에서 겔룩학파가 귀류논증법을 토대로하여 <보성론>의 여래장사상을 공성으로 해석한 방법과 의미를 검토하는 것이다. 첫째, 여래장과 공성의 관계를 논의하면서 발생하는 쟁점을 소개한다. 공성은 어떤 것이 존재하지 않는다는 부정의 방식을 사용한다. 인도 논리철학 전통에서 사용된 절대적 부정과 상대적 부정은 ‘문장’과 ‘단어’의 한정하는 범위의 차이에 따라 의미가 다르다. 부정의 방식에 따라서 승의제를 논하는 내용도 다르게 된다. 둘째는 여래장을 공성으로 해석하는 티벳의 옥 로댄쎄랍(rNgog Lo tsā ba Blo ldan shes rab)과 겔룩학파의 갤찹제(rGyal tshab Darma rin chen)는 <보성론> 구문에서 절대부정의 방식으로 공을 해석한 공통토대로 각기 다른 승의제의 해석을 하여 언설될 수 없고 어떤 공덕의 존재도 인정하지 않는 옥 로댄쎄랍과 차별적인 승의제 해석을 검토한다. 셋째는 궁극적인 상태를 부정하지 않는 귀류논증의 공성이해를 가진 겔룩 전통이 기술하는 세속에서 존재방식을 부정하는 용어와 부정을 통한 궁극적 상태를 논리적인 배제로 합리화하는 체계를 논의했다. 티벳불교에서 <보성론>의 핵심주제인 여래장사상을 공성으로 해석한 두 스승은 각자의 해석체계를 확립하기 위해 절대부정이라는 부정논리에 궁극적인 상태의 각기 다른 의미와 연계하여 실재에 대한 큰 차이를 보인다.
Doctrinal exegesis of the RGVV in Tibet was extensively studied by later scholars of all tradition. The purpose of this paper is to examine and to establish that Prāsaṇgika-Madhyamaka explain of the Tathāgatagarbha(Buddha-nature) as Emptiness(śūnyatā) by means of the Prāsangika(Thal ‘gyur ba) method in the rGyal tshab rje’s Theg pa chen po rgyud bla ma’i ṭīkā. Firstly, issues related to the connection between Tathāgatagarbha and the Emptiness(śūnyatā) within the philosophical-hermeneutical frame are being discussed as likewise. Emptiness takes the means of negation to explain the non existence of being. In Indo tradition of philosophy of logic, the meaning of non-affirming negation(prasajyapratiṣedha, med dgag) and presuppositional/ implicative negation(paryudāsapratiṣedha, ma yin dgag) could be varied according to differences in their use of the limitation range of ‘sentence’ and ‘word’. Secondly, rNgog Blo ldan shes rab’s own position on doctrinal hierarchy is suggested in verses Ⅰ-154,155 of RGVV, in which the ultimate level is not an object directly captured by speech or conceptualization nor is something exist in reality by Madhyamaka doctrine on the basis of non affirming negation system. Thirdly, Prasaṇgika of the rGyal lug school in which has method of negating any supposed self-nature(svabhāva) as elucidating hypostatically established (bden grub) the terminology for denying the way of Empty established by self- nature (rang bzhin gyis grub pas stong pa), by self-characteristic (rang gi mtshan nyid kyis grub pas stong pa), by own nature (rang gi ngo bo nyid kyis grub pas stong pa) in transactional-pragmatic(samvṛtti), so that ultimate reality with doctrine of the system Emptiness as Buddha-nature. In sum, the Great Translator rNgog and rGyal tshab rje have something in common that central to the teaching of the RGVV is interpreted the Buddha-nature as Emptiness by non-affirming negation(prasajyapratiṣedha), but throw light on the different meaning for established theoretical frame in their own system. rNgog’s pointview prefer to be exist Buddha-nature in which is devoed of defilement conventional level rather than ultemate level, while rGyal tshab rje has pointed out true existence correspond to absence of hypostatized existence. |
