| Abstract | 이 논문은 비약적으로 발전을 거듭하고 있는 인공지능과 현 불교 교육과의 올바른 방향 및 관계에 대해 논의한다. 오늘날 인공지능은 교육의 원리와 방법에 이르기까지 다방면의 급진적 변화를 일으키고 있으며, 이는 불교 교육에도 큰 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상된다. 그리하여 본고는 인공지능의 문제점을 고찰하고, 이러한 문제점들을 포함하는 인공지능이 교육 현장을 주도하는 인공지능 시대에서 불교 교육의 역할과 과제에 대해 전망한다. 이를 위해 본고는 본론에서 첫째, 인공지능의 이해를 토대로 교육 분야에서 인공지능이 어떻게 적용되고 있는지 살펴본다. 이를 통해 미래의 불교 교육이 어떤 방향으로 진화할지에 대해 고찰한다. 교육 분야에서 인공지능 기술 현황에 대한 이해는 미래의 불교 교육 방향성 제시에 기여할 것이다. 둘째, 불교 교육을 하는 데 있어 『금강경에 기초하는 ‘바른 생각(正思)과 바른 행동(正業)’을 하는 인공지능의 윤리관 구축이 선행되어야 함을 제시한다. 오늘날 윤리적 준거에 부합하는 인공지능을 개발하기 위한 윤리 원칙들에 대한 사회적 합의를 도출해야 할 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 그리고 『금강경은 인공지능 윤리의 방향성에 대한 학계와 산업계의 논의에 보편적 관점의 발전된 윤리관 정립 방향을 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이다. 오늘날 인공지능과 종교 교육의 상호작용은 잠재적인 장점과 해결해야 할 과제를 함께 갖고 있다. 인공지능은 종교 교육에 대한 개별화와 접근성을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 학습자들의 관여도와 참여도를 높일 수 있다. 그러나 종교적 경험과 신앙의 깊이는 인간과의 관계에서 비롯되기 때문에 인공지능만으로 전달하기에는 한계가 있다. 따라서 후속 연구는 인공지능과 종교 교육의 상호작용을 보다 깊이 있게 이해하고, 인간의 존재와 종교적 신념에 대한 존중과 이해를 바탕으로 인공지능의 활용 방안을 모색해야 할 것이다.
This paper discusses the correct direction and relationship between the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence and current Buddhist education. Today, Artificial Intelligence is causing rapid changes in many areas, even in the principles and methods of education, and this is expected to have a significant impact on Buddhist education. Therefore, this paper examines the problems of artificial intelligence and looks forward to the role and challenges of Buddhist education in the age of artificial intelligence, where artificial intelligence will lead the field of education, including these problems. To this end, this paper first looks at how artificial intelligence is applied in the field of education, based on the understanding of artificial intelligence in this paper. This will lead to a discussion of the direction in which future Buddhist education will evolve. An understanding of the current state of artificial intelligence technology in the field of education will contribute to presenting the direction of future Buddhist education. Second, we present that Buddhist education should be preceded by the construction of an artificial intelligence ethic of “right thinking (right thought) and right action (right practice)” based on 『Diamond Sutra』. Today, the need to derive social consensus on ethical principles for developing an artificial intelligence that conforms to ethical conformity is raised. And 『Diamond Sutra』 will provide a direction for the establishment of an evolving ethical view of a universal perspective to the academic and industrial debate on the direction of artificial intelligence ethics. Today, the interaction between Artificial Intelligence and religious education has both potential advantages and challenges to be solved. Artificial intelligence can increase personalization and accessibility to religious education and increase learner engagement and participation. However, there are limits to what artificial intelligence alone can convey, since religious experience and depth of faith come from human relationships. Therefore, subsequent research will have to better understand the interaction between artificial intelligence and religious education and explore ways to use artificial intelligence based on respect and understanding of human existence and religious beliefs.
