Abstract이 글에서는 월창거사 김대현의 사상을 검토한다. 2장에서는 『선학입문』에 제시된 천태선의 의미를 살펴본다. 박한영은 천태선이 달마선보다 뛰어나다고 한다. 오철호는 천태선과 달마선은 다르지 않다고 한다. 그런데 박한영과 오철호가 천태선이라고 말한 것은 『선바라밀(차제선문)』에 의거한 것이고, 이 『선바라밀』은 초기의 천태사상에 속하는 것이다. 그래서 『선바라밀』은 천태사상에 속하는 저술이면서도 동시에 인도의 초기불교와 부파불교의 수행론을 전하는 저술이기도 하다. 3장에서는 『술몽쇄언』의 사상구조를3가지로 접근한다. 첫째, 인생관과 세계관이다. 김대현은 세간의 지혜와 의리에 대해 비판한다. 둘째, 견성의 사상이다. 견성은 마음이 비어있는 것이고, 이는 탐욕, 성냄, 어리석음이 없어진 상태이다. 셋째, 수행관이다. 상근기는 말끝에 무념을 증득하지만, 중근기와 하근기는 한가지 생각으로 집중하는 법을 배워야 한다. 한가지 생각으로 집중하는법에서 김대현은 돈오돈수의 간화선과 비슷한 맥락을 말한다. 그러면서 『술몽쇄언』의다른 대목에서는 돈오점수 맥락의 수행론을 제시하기도 한다.

In this article, I review the thoughts of Kim Dae-Hyeon of Wolchang lay buddhist. In chapter 2, I examine the meaning of tiantai-seon presented in Introduction to Seonhak. Park Han-Young says that tiantai-seon is superior to dharma-seon. Oh Cheol-Ho says that there is no difference between tiantai-seon and dharma-seon. However, what Park Han-Young and Oh Cheol-Ho said tiantai-seon, was based on Perfection of Concentration, and this Perfection of Concentration belongs to the early tiantai thoughts. Therefore, Perfection of Concentration is a work belonging to tiantai thoughts, and at the same time, it is a work that conveys the practice theory of early buddhism and nikāya buddhism in India. In chapter 3, I approach the ideological structure of Sulmongswaeeon in three ways. First, there is a view of life and a view of the world. Kim Dae-Hyun criticizes the wisdom and loyalty of the world. Second, it is the idea to see one’s own nature. To see one’s own nature is an empty mind, which is a state in which greed, anger, and foolishness are eliminated. Third, it is a view of meditation practice. The superior capacity acquires no thought at the end of the speech, but the middling capacity and lesser capacity have to learn to focus on one thought. In the method of concentrating on one thought, Kim Dae-Hyun speaks in a similar context to sudden enlightenment and sudden cultivation's phrase-observing medition. At the same time, other parts in Sulmongswaeeon suggest a theory of meditation practice in the context of sudden enlightenment and gradual cultivation.
