| Abstract | 불교는 초세간적인 것만이 아니라 세간의 현실도 중요시하는 종교이다. 경제에 대해서도 불교는 재화의 획득과 증식에 관심을 가지고 올바르게 벌고 올바르게 쓸 것을 설한다. 나아가 불교는 물질적인 충족이 아니라 총체적 삶의 질을 높이는 경제학을 지향하며 궁극적으로는 열반의 경제학을 지향하고 있다. 한편 현재 인류는 코로나 19로 대변되는 환경재앙과 기후변화, 부익부 빈익빈 등, 근본적으로 보면 경제에 기인하는 문제로 큰 위기에 봉착해 있다. 불교는 어떤 종교보다도 생명을 존중하고 자연과 인간의 상호의존관계를 중시하므로 불교경제학과 불교생태학은 위기에 봉착한 인류에게 새로운 미래를 제시할 수 있다. 동국대학교는 2004년에 불교생태학의 기치를 내걸고 ‘에코포럼’을 출범한 이래로 총 28회의 포럼과 3회의 심포지엄을 진행하였고, 2006년에는 건학 100주년 기념 국제학술대회를 개최하였으며, 관련 책자를 출간한 바 있다. 불교의 경·율·론 삼장에는 불교경제학과 불교생태학, 그리고 불교경영학에 대해서도 지혜를 줄 수 있는 내용이 많이 있다. 연구방법은 크게 보면, 귀납적 또는 연역적 연구방법으로 접근할 수 있으며, 가능하다면 인접 학문과의 학제적 공동연구와 융합연구가 가능할 것이다. 그리고 불교와 타종교의 사회교리를 비교하는 연구도 개척 가능하며, (가칭)‘불교경제연구소’와 같은 연구기관의 설립도 생각해 볼 수 있을 것이다.
Buddism is a religion that puts emphasis on not only the supra-mundane world but also the mundane world. Buddhism preach that one should interest in making money and spending money on correct method about economy of laypeople. Furthermore Buddhism pursue economics that enhances the overall quality of life and ultimately nirvana above the material satisfaction. Now mankind are facing big crisis of environmental disaster like corona 19, climate change, polarization of wealth which basically result from economy. Buddhism hold sacred life and lay stress on the mutual dependence relationship between human and nature than other religions so that Buddhist economics and Buddhist ecology could provide hopeful future. Since Ecoforum launched in 2004, Dongguk University had proceeded altogether 28 forums and 3 symposiums, besides hosted international academic conference in 2006 commemorating 100th anniversary of school and published related books. Tripitaka of Buddhism contains abundant contents that share wisdom on Buddhist economics, Buddhist ecology, Buddhist business administration. Classifying roughly, there would be inductive research method and deductive research method, and interdisciplinary approaches with related studies are possible. And comparative study of social doctrine between Buddhism and other religions could be developed. Furthermore tentatively named 'Buddhist economy research lab' deserve consideration. |
