抄録 | The purpose of this study is to assist students of the Dhamma in understanding with clarity the profound principles of the Buddha's most authentic teachings. Therefore, the mainframe of the study is a presentation of three of the most fundamental doctrines in Theravāda Buddhism in relation to death and dying i.e., the Five Aggregates of Clinging, Kamma and Rebirth, and Dependent Origination. By highlighting the ultimate teachings of the Buddha, this work is intended to be a practical guide for understanding the Buddhist approach to death, an analysis of its causes and why its certainty is such an integral part of Theravāda Buddhism.
The challenge of this investigation is to succinctly state these underlying principles without making them too complicated for readers who are new to Theravāda Buddhism. An important goal of this study is to promote the idea that the human mind is the most powerful force that can overcome aversion towards death, as humans are the only species that have the potential to reach the highest standards of mental development.
