抄録 | The doctrine of no-self in buddhism (abhidharma, vasubandhu) is discussed and then the nyaya critique of no-self is put forward briefly following udayana. it is pointed out the buddhist reductionism (about 'self') should be distinguished from the modern reductionism ("a la" parfit). the buddhist no-self doctrine was instrumental to buddhist soteriology. the philosophical problem about the self versus no-self is undecidable on,because undetermined by,the available evidence ("pramana"). |
