抄録 | In preparing the catalogue for `The Circle of Bliss' exhibition,Huntington was able to connect several paintings in the Tibetan `shardun ri' (`painting agree with the east') style directly to Gaur and Vanga prototypes of eastern India and thus both demonstrate the validity of the Tibetan term and refine the dating of the paintings. In his examination here of a painting of Amitabha and another of Sahaja Chakrasamvara, both from a private Swiss collection, and a third, the famous blue Vajrasattva from the Musee Guimet,he shows how they are influenced by the styles or even by the artists from the ancient Bengal regions. |
