抄録 | The essay questions the prevailing view that Hindu philosophy either univocally and without recourse to reason accepts belief in the Transcendent (in one of its polymorphic forms) or forecloses doubt and disbelief in this matter. The Nyaya gave persuasive cosmological "proofs, " basing their arguments on quasi-ontological,moral and authorial considerations (e.g.,the magnificence of scripture, etc.) However, each such move was systematically criticised and refuted by the Mimamsa, ironically the most orthodox Indian school. Their critique echoes a kind of Humean,moral-theodike,onto-logos and authorial scepticism, indicating a deconstructive tendency which Hinduism and Buddhism shared alike. |
