抄録 | Buddhism has often been misrepresented, but the best defense is provided by the Yogacarin adherents themselves. For example, the Yogacarin Vasubandhu does not deny that an external world exists, as has been alleged by his critics. Other issues include the translation of 'cittamatra' as 'mind-only,' the interpretation of 'alayavijnana, ' and the three 'laksanas' or natures. Clarifications of the Yogacara position are given from the perspectives of subject and object,Buddhist logic and Western philosophy. Interpretations of Yogacara by T.R.V. Murti and Lambert Schmithausen are also discussed. |
