抄録 | Chuang Tzu's first three chapters are arranged into free verse (in Chinese,in the original word order) and translated, nearly word-for-word,with extensive critical glosses vis-a-vis over fifty Chinese,Japanese, and Western commentators. Then his philosophical and contemporary implications of these chapters are meditated upon. Chuang Tzu,the Taoist forerunner of Zen Buddhism, views all strivings as parodying stories and arguments with each playing off of and referring to the other. This serious, yet entertaining, translation of Chuang Tzu's text and meditation on philosophy is the most thorough to date, with all of his poetic beauty, philosophical insights, and unity. |
