抄録 | The essay examines the relations between Nietzsche and East Asian thought under three headings:influences of Asian ideas on the development of Nietzsche's thinking, the impact of his ideas in Asia, and comparisons between philosophical themes in Nietzsche and in thinkers from Asian traditions. While he was to some extent influenced by Indian Buddhism, the impact of Nietzsche's philosophy on the intellectual worlds of China and Japan, beginning even before his death, has been enormous. Comparisons of his major ideas with themes in Daoism and Buddhism can illuminate important aspects of his thought as well as provide routes of access into those East Asian philosophies. |
