抄録 | The book is a critical analysis of the metaphysical and epistemological assumptions of modern science in comparison with the teachings of eastern religion and systems of esoteric western philosophy. It is argued that current efforts by western scientists and psychologists to draw parallels between the new physics and new systems of psychology with esoteric and eastern systems are misguided, ignoring as they do the element of self-observation that forms the core of these latter methods of knowing. Modern science and ancient, eastern and esoteric teachings are radically different forms of knowing, conducted in radically different states of awareness. Similarities are merely verbal. |
