| 抄録 | Buddhism is humanistic in many ways and in a variety of the senses that the term "humanism " has acquired. The Buddha as a social reformer sought to establish human value，dignity，equal rights, freedom，justice and peace. There is no doubt that Buddhism has a very significant contribution to UNESCO's effort in evolving Universal Ethics or a Common Framework for Ethics of the Twenty-first Century.
In this paper are discussed the origin and evolution of UNESCO Universal Ethics Project with special reference to the thinking of the Project's prime movers. All concepts examined in the preparation of common ethical framework are intrinsic to the principles of Humanistic Buddhism. To illustrate this conclusion，the Buddhist contribution to Universal Ethics in the following areas are highlighted：(a) Democracy and Freedom; (b) Dialogue; (c) Respect of Human Life and Non-violence; (d) Human Dignity and Gender Equality; and (e) Tolerance and Peace. The writer concludes with an appeal to Buddhists lo cooperate with the international community so that Humanistic Buddhism offers enlightened guidelines to the United Nations System and UNESCO.
佛教在諸方面的人間性和感性使其獲得了 "人文主義" 這術語. 佛陀作為社會的改良者試圖建立人類價值. 尊嚴. 平等權利. 自由. 公正. 與和平. 毫無疑問，佛教可以對聯合國科教文組織的普世倫理的努力作出特殊貢獻，為21世紀倫理的公共架構作出特別的貢獻.
本文探討了聯合國科教文組織普世倫理計劃的起源和變遷，特別討論了這項計劃發起者的想法. 在準備普世倫理框架的初期，所有初期經過審查的概念本身都是人間佛教的原理. 為闡明這結論，佛教對普世倫理的貢獻有以下幾點：(1) 民主和自由; (2) 對話; (3) 尊重生命和非暴力; (4) 仁的尊嚴和性別平等; (5) 寬容與和平. 作者在結語中呼籲佛教徒與國際社會合作，人間佛教為聯合國總部和聯合國科教文組織提交一份充滿智慧ˇ的綱領. |
