抄録 | Although developed originally for the elimination of human suffering, Buddhism in the pursuit of achieving its final goal has developed extremely useful methods to understand reality, to observe causes and conditions for all phenomena, and to overcome any delusions or incorrect views. This paper compares the methods used by Buddhists for enlightenment with the methods used by modern scientists, describes their similarities, and contrasts their major differences. It concludes that the methods used by Buddhists are not only in consistence with the so called “scientific methods,” they exhibit additional strengths that current scientific methods fall short of.
