抄録 | The article examines the emergence and development of Central Asian Buddhism on the Old Silk Road between China and India. According to the author, it is well-established that Buddhism first reached China from the Old Silk Road from the west. The author believes that the Buddhist monk missionaries would have crossed the Taklamakan desert of Central Asia and used one of the several branches of the Old Silk Road which reached from China westwards through Central Asia into the Roman Empire. |
