抄録 | This treatise discusses how the theory of ascetic exercises and realization was formed in the 7th to 8th century`s three East Asian countries` (Korea, China and Japan) mind and consciousness discourse. Since the 7th to 8th century, Korea, China and Japan have been forming one civil sphere through the code `Buddhism.` This was possible because these three countries acknowledged each other`s existence and communicated with each other in the dependent arising world view of Buddhism. The Buddhist cultural sphere has been forming much wider and deeper horizons than the Confucian cultural sphere through `Chinese characters` and `mind and consciousness.` Especially, in the 7th to 8th century, East Asian people`s spectrum of understanding human beings and their recognition of the world was definitely the paradigms of `Chinese characters,` `Buddhism` and `mind and consciousness.` The vessel for these paradigms was Vijnaptimatratasiddhi Sastra, the Avatamsaka Sutra and Awakening of Mahayana Faith. These texts containing the paradigms of Consciousness-only of Buddhism and Avatamsaka`s `mind` and `consciousness` was the reliance on sutra and sastra of the form of the contemporary religious body or thought. |
