| 抄録 | No. 2695 of the Otani Turfan Collection preserved in the Ryukoku University Library, Kyoto, is a fragment of the Manjusri-sadhana (author : Mati) in the old Turkic language, corresponding in content to that of the Tibetan Tripitaka No. 2717 (Bstan-hgyur-rgyud-hgrel) : Sde-dge edition Tohoku University Catalogue ; OR No. 3539 Peking ed. Otani Uni. Catalogue). According to the colophon of our frgment, by order "of Authority" (coqdu < Mongol. : Coqto) a person named Qoludi Sanggasiri translated it anew from the Tibetan language. This Turkish translator of the Arya-rajavavadaka-nama Mahayana sutra in blockprint (W. Radloff ed.), was put into Uyɣur (old Turkic) language by order of the "Qaɣan Emperor" (Qaɣanq an : the title of Mongol-Yuan Emperors in Uyɣur). Generally we should give adequate consideration to the fact that the Uyɣurs came into contact with Tibetan Buddism through the Mongol-Yuan Dynasty. |
