抄録 | Do theories of learning have universal import such that they should be applicable in all cultural contexts? The answer is both yes and no. On the one hand, theories of learning originally conceived in one culture can be adopted by others. This is a common occurrence. On the other hand, this does not mean that there is one universally valid theory, since any theory is adopted only because they are responding to the needs and goals that vary according to circumstances. The paper suggests a proposal based on the teachings of Buddhism as to why this is the case. |
