抄録 | The purpose of this paper is to discover how to promote the socio-economic happiness/subjective well-being for individuals from Buddhists’ point of view. The key would be the right understanding of things, right attitude, and wholesome behavior. By integrating the concepts of happiness both in philosophy and psychology, we use the happiness regression model to find out the factors of happiness and examine some important economic issues, such as the effects of income, materialism, inequality, and unemployment on people’s subjective wellbeing. The data from the World Value Survey will be used. Taiwan would be the target country for this study, however, for comparison, two countries from the happiest group and the least happy group would also be studied. We will interpret the estimated results in terms of Buddhadharma to illuminate the path to happiness. The study will be concluded by designing a Happy Scale served as an action list to be happy. |
