| 抄録 | In initiating the researches on Buddhism in Late Ming, especially for the Master Ouyi Zhixu (蕅益智旭), Master Sheng Yen's “The Study of Chinese Buddhism in Late Ming”, published in Japan in 1975 as his dissertation of Rissho University, made unpreceded contribution. Before then, this field has not received enough scholarly attention; while after Maser Sheng Yen's series studies, it suddenly became popular and has endured till now. Following the dissertation, Maser Sheng Yen wrote “the Study of Buddhism in Late Ming”. In this book, he introduced the basic situation of Buddhism in late Ming as well as the outline of critical documents by tabulation list, providing followers with great guidance to research further. Under Maser Sheng Yen's direction, this project will focus on the important debates in late Ming-- the interaction relationship between Leng Yan Miao Ding (楞嚴妙定) and Tian Tai śamatha vipaśyanā (天台止觀), which is selected from Ouyi Zhixu's works. On the one hand, this project attempts to clarify the usage of "human nature" and "Buddha-nature" in intellectual history. On the other hand, it will explain the significance of "Che Di Xian Xing" (徹底顯性), which Ouyi Zhixu emphasized in his “Da Fo Ding Jing Wen Ju”(《大佛頂經文句》). |
