| 抄録 | 1920, 30년대에는 근대이전의 신비적인 불타관이 지양되고 합리성을 추구하는 근대적인 불타관이 등장하게 된다. 그것은 1.인간으로서의 불타 2.철학자로서의 불타 3.시대적, 역사적 존재로서의 불타로서 형상화된다. 이상의 측면을 불타의 생애를 중심으로 살펴보면, <인간으로서의 불타>에서는 종래의 前生譚이나 降兜率부분이 생략되거나 축약되는 대신 ‘불타는 정반왕과 마야부인이라는 인간의 자식’임을 주장하고, ‘야소다라와의 부부간의 사랑’을 강조하게 된다. <철학자로서의 불타>에서는 외도의 교화과정에 대해서 종래의 불전에서는 불타의 신통력으로 외도를 교화하는 데 비해서 ‘설법’으로 교화함을 강조하고 설법내용을 상세하게 기술하고 있다. 이것은 신이성의 배제라는 근대불교학의 성격과 관계되지만, ‘불교교리의 정확한 전달’이라는 목적도 있음을 알 수 있다. <시대적, 역사적 존재로서의 불타>에서는 당시의 유물론, 진화론의 영향을 받아 ‘불타는 기원전 5세기의 인도라는 시간적, 공간적 환경의 산물임’을 강조하고 있다. 이상과 같은 근대적 불타관은 2가지의 배경이 있다. 첫째는 1920, 30년대에 제기된 반종교운동 등의 영향으로 불교가 자신을 재정립하는 과정에서 나온 것이요, 또 하나는 일본근대불교학의 수입에 의한 것이라 할 수 있다.
In 1920, 30 periods, while superstitious view of Buddha was rejected, modern view of Buddha that pursuits rationality is appeared. That takes shape Buddha as human, Buddha as philosopher and Buddha as historical being. Firstly instead that the story of Buddha's former life is omitted, the fact that Buddha is the son of person is emphasized and the love between Buddha and Yasodara is pointed. Secondly while non-buddhist was converted by supernatural power of Buddha in early biography of Buddha, the historical fact that they were converted by 'teaching' of Buddha is emphasized and the teaching of Buddha is described in detail. Thirdly that Buddha was the being be born under circumstances of B.C. 5century India is pointed. Modern views of the Buddha have two backgrounds. Firstly that is suggested against Christianity and anti-religion movement in 1920, 30 periods. Secondly that is appeared by an inflow of japanese modern buddhist studies.
