| 抄録 | 이 논문의 목적은 고려 후기의 대표적 고승인 태고 보우의 사상적 지형도를 밝혀보는 것이다. 그에 대한 역사적 평가는 한국 돈오돈수법의 창시자라는 극찬이 있는가 하면, 당시의 권문세족과 결탁한 권력 지향의 승려로 평가되기도 한다. 이러한 평가는 가치중립적인 시각의 결여에서 오는 것이라 생각된다.태고의 사상적 키워드는 그가 말한 적이 없는 '원융' 또는 '회통'이 아니라 그 스스로 강조하고 있는 '자심'이라 해야 할 것이다. 그는 네 차례의 깨달음의 전기를 통하여 1) 화두를 참구하고, 2) 깨침을 얻은 뒤, 3) 반드시 본색종사를 찾아가 구경결택할 것을 강조했다. 이 과정에서 그의 사상적 지형도는 '반관참사'라는 매개항을 통하여 '직지자심'(몸체, 體)과 '수참결택'(몸짓, 用)을 이뤄내는 것이었다.태고의 자심은 원효의 일심과 지눌의 진심에 상응하는 개념이다. 동시에 그의 반관의 논리는 원효의 화회와 지눌의 반조의 논리에 상응하는 술어이다. 하지만 그는 몸체와 몸짓의 균형과 조화를 도모했던 원효와 지눌의 사유와 달리 몸체 쪽으로만 심화됨으로써 몸짓의 지평을 위축시켰다. 그리하여 태고는 이후 한국불교의 대사회적 지평을 약화시켰다고 할 수 있다.
This paper aims to explore the theoretical structure of Taego Bowoo's a topographical map of thoughts. Historical appraisal on him are the founder of a way of sudden enligtenment & sudden practice in korea, or monk of intend to power conspire with a family of influence. I think that this valuation came to lack of vision of value neutral. Taego's keyword is not 'wonyung' or 'hoitong' that he is not talk, but 'Jasim' that for himself emphasize. He stress to with four the turning point 1) investigate to Hwadoo, 2) take a Enlightenment, 3) judgment to searching for master of real quality. At this course, his a topographical map of thoughts aims to realize the Gikgijasim(the body) & Suchamgyultaek(a gesture) by a medium caluse of Banguanchamsa. Taego' Jasim correspond to a notion at Wonhyo's Ilsim and Jinul's Jinsim. Simultaneously his the theory of Banguan(返觀) correspond to a techanical term at the theory of Wonhyo's Hwahoi(和會) and Jinul's Banjo(返照). But he made wither to ground level of momgit(몸짓) as deepending of only a course momchei(몸체), differently contrast to Wonhyo & Jinul's thought that deviced to balance & harmony of momchei and momgit. Therefore he made weaker after to confront social ground level of Korean Buddhism. |
