| 抄録 | 이 논문은 「수덕사 塑造 여래좌상 복장 유물」 중 전적과 다라니에 대한 고찰이다. 이 소조 여래좌상은 조선 초기에 조성된 것으로, 복장 전적 중에서 다수의 고려시대 간행 전적과 조선초의 다라니가 수습되었다. 필자는 수덕사 복장 수습 전적류에 대한 고찰을 통해 다음 등을 언급하였다. 복장본 중 『대방광불화엄경소』(권79～81, 91～93)는 義天이 宋에서 제작 간행한 敎藏 중 일부로, 권79, 80의 경우 기존 국내에서 발견되지 않은 유일본임을 말하였다. 그럼에도 복장본 『대방광불화엄경소』는 宋에서 유래한 목판의 인출본이 아닌 번각 인출본으로, 우리나라 판각의 『대방광불화엄경소』 敎藏本이 고려말～조선초에 존재했음을 밝혀내었다. 이외에 1240년 崔怡 跋文本 『묘법연화경』 끝에 기록된 洪武23년(1390) 墨書 跋文 중 避諱缺劃의 예와, 표지화 표현 형식의 예를 통해 이 책이 고려 印成本임을 언급했으며, 이들 경전은 1286년 成敏 誌本 『묘법연화경』과 1382년 李穡 跋文本 『묘법연화경』, 재조대장경 중 『사아함모초해』, 사경본 『자비도량참법』 등과 함께 <1390년 당시 조성된 某 불상> 복장에 납입되었을 것임을 추정하였다. 그리고 복장에서 수습된 1422년 대자암 간행본 『묘법연화경』의 경우 1489년(弘治貳年己酉) 간행된 다라니와 함께 <1390년 조성된 某 불상>의 重修 내지 蓋金時거나 <1489년 조성된 또 다른 불상>에 납입되었을 것으로, <1489년 조성된 불상>의 경우 불복장 당시 이 불상은 德山縣 북쪽 沔川(당진군 면천면)의 <某 寺刹>에 봉안되었던 것임을 말하였다. 그럼에도 여래상의 相好 내지 불상 양식을 고려할 때 「수덕사 소조 여래좌상」은 <15세기 이후 조성된 불상>으로 추정되는 것으로, 이 불상의 腹藏時 <1390년 당시 조성된 某 佛像>의 佛腹藏 내지 <1489년 조성된 또 다른 불상>의 佛腹藏이 수습되어 현재의 「수덕사 소조 여래좌상」 복장에 납입된 것이라는 점을 언급하였다.
This paper presents an investigation into the relics and votive objects(腹藏物) found in the seated clay Buddha(塑造坐佛) at the Sudeok Buddhist Temple(修德寺). Made in early Joseon, this seated clay Buddha contained many Buddhist sutras published during Goryeo and dharani(陀羅尼) from early Joseon. The investigator discussed the followings by looking into the Buddhist sutras and dharani found among the relics and votive objects at the temple: Of the versions found among the relics and votive objects, “Daebang gwangbul- hwaeomgyeongso(大方廣佛華嚴經疏)”(Volumes 79～81 and 91～93) was part of the Gyojang(敎藏) made and published by Yi-Tian(義天) in the Song Dynasty(宋). Volumes 79 and 80 are the only ones found in South Korea. Still, “Daebang gwangbul-hwaeomgyeongso” is a Korean block book rather than one transmitted from Song and demonstrates that the Gyojang version of "Daebang gwangbul-hwaeomgyeongso" engraved in Korea existed from late Goryeo to early Joseon. The study also mentioned that “Lotus Sutra(妙法蓮華經)” was published during Goryeo based on the examples of Pi Hui(避諱, Naming Taboo) and the cover painting format in the postface(跋文) written in 1390 at the end of Choi-ui's(崔怡) postface version of “Lotus Sutra” in 1240. It was estimated that these scriptures were placed in “A Buddha Statute of 1390” as part of its relics and votive objects along with Sung-min's(成敏) postface version of “Lotus Sutra” published in 1286, Lee Seak’s(李穡) postface version of “Lotus Sutra” published in 1382, and “Saahammochohe(四阿含暮抄解)” of Jaejodaejanggyeong(再雕大藏經) and “Jabidoryang-chambeop(慈悲道場懺法)”. The Daejaam(大慈庵) version of “Lotus Sutra” published in 1422 and discovered in the relics and votive objects must have been put in “A Buddha Statute of 1390” when it was repaired or covered in gold or “Another Buddha Statute of 1489” along with the dharani published in 1489. “A Buddha Statute of 1489” was enshrined at “a Buddhist temple” in Myuncheng(沔川) north of Duksan province(德山縣) along with the relics and votive objects. Still, it was estimated that the seated clay Buddha of Sudeok Buddhist Temple was made in early Joseon(15th century). The relics and votive objects of “A Buddha Statute of 1390” and “Another Buddha Statute of 1489” must have been recovered and put in the current seated clay Buddha of Sudeok Buddhist Temple. |
