| 抄録 | 한국불교에서 선종은 큰 역할을 하였다. 때문에 한국선을 이해하는 것은 한국불교를 이해하는 하나의 입장이기도 하다. 그 가운데서도 특히 선과 교의 관계도 마찬가지이다. 그것은 중국선보다도 그리고 일본선보다도 특히 한국불교에서 선종의 성격이 비교적 강하게 전개되어 왔기 때문이다. 고려중기 이후부터는 선교융합 내지 선을 우위에 둔 선교관이 팽배하였다. 이와 같은 전통은 조선의 전기 및 후기까지도 전반적인 추세는 마찬가지였다. 그러나 조선 중기에는 선과 교의 관계에도 변화된 모습이 드러난다. 16세기 휴정은 전반기의 저술인 『선가귀감』에서 부분적인 선교융합의 자세를 보였지만, 후반기의 저술인 『선교석』과 『선교결』에는 선교차별의 모습을 보였다. 이것은 단순한 선교차별이라기보다는 교학을 바탕으로 하여 선에 들어간다는 從敎入禪의 모습으로 발견된다. 나아가서 17세기에 출현한 『선교총판문』에서는 일찍이 종밀의 선교관을 충실하게 수용하여 선교융합의 자세를 보여주었다. 곧 불법의 전체적인 구조속에서 선과 교의 위상을 제시하여 결국 선과 교가 차별이 아닌 상호 보완적이고 차제적인 관계임이 드러난다. 그러나 18세기에 출현한 『선교대변』에는 다시 기존의 선교차별의 입장이 강하게 제시되었다. 『선교대변』에서는 첫째로 선교에 대한 대의가 차별이라는 점으로부터 출발하였고, 둘째로 다양한 문헌을 인용하여 선교차별의 근거를 제시하였으며, 셋째로 선교관에 대한 몰이해에 대한 비판을 가하여 선교차별을 넘어서 禪主敎從의 입장을 지향하였다. 이와 같이 선교관에 대하여 조선 중기에 출현했던 선교일치, 선교융합, 선교차별, 종교입선, 사교입선 등의 몇 가지 특징적인 모습은 선과 교에 대한 이해의 관점이 다양하게 등장한 것에서 그 이유를 찾아볼 수가 있다. 그것은 보다 넓게 보자면 불법의 체계에 대하여 전적으로 선종의 관점에서 평가된 것이었기 때문에 일정 부분 그 한계는 남아 있다.
We can see that the view of zen and doctrinism begin from China zen sects. Since the advent of zen thoughts from China in the end of Shilla and early Koryo era, so called, the quickening period of Korean zen, there are discrimination of zen and doctrinism of Korea Buddhism. Namely, Jinguizosaseol(眞歸祖師說) by Mooyeom(無染) and Mooseoltoron(無舌土論) by Bumil.(梵日) The appearance of these opinions was owing to unavoidable circumstances in beginning ear of Korean Zen. In other time, we can consistency or harmonize or complex of zen and doctrinism. But, generally speaking the tradition of discrimination of zen and doctrinism was remaind since then. For that reason, the concept of discrimination of zen and doctrinism fixed idea in Korean zen through development period. But, in the middle age of the Choson dynasty(16c), come in evidence complex of zen and doctrinism by CheongheoHyujung(淸虛休靜) based on Seongaguigam(禪家龜鑑) his the first half year. On the other hand, come in evidence discrimination of zen and doctrinism by CheongheoHyujung based on Seongyoseok(禪敎釋) and Seongyogyeol(禪敎訣) his the second half year. Since then, in the middle age of the Choson dynasty(17c), come in evidence harmonize of zen and doctrinism based on Seongyochongpanmoon(禪敎摠判門) by unidentified person. Thereafter, there are come in evidence discrimination of zen and doctrinism of Korea Buddhism in the middle age of the Choson dynasty(18c) based on Seongyodaebyeon(禪敎對辨) by Moogyeongjasu(無竟子秀). In the Later age of Choson dynasty, The tradition of discrimination of zen and doctrinism was succeed to in the Later age of Choson dynasty. MoogyeongJasu compared the relations with zen and doctrinism. The relations with zen and doctrinism can be divided into three types. First is the view of practices in zen and doctrinism. Second is the view of enlightenments in zen and doctrinism. Third is the view of educational movement in zen and doctrinism. |
