| 抄録 | 이 연구는 천태학(天台學)이 과연 인문치유(Humanities Therapy)가 가능한가의 고찰로부터 출발하여, 인문치유가 천태지관의 번뇌 치유에 어떻게 적용될 수 있는가를 살펴보는데 그 목적을 두었다.
인문학이 문학 역사 철학을 기반으로 하듯이, 인문학의 치유 기능도 “문학의 치유기능, 역사의 치유기능, 철학의 치유기능”이라는 크게 세 분야로 나눌 수 있다. 여기서 천태학은 철학의 사유체계와 맞닿아 있어 서 철학적 치유기능이 주목된다. 철학적 치유는 인간에 대한 이해로부 터 시작되어 인간의 근본적인 고통과 관련된 해석학적이고 윤리적인 이 해로 이루어진다고 할 수 있다. 천태학은 오시팔교의 교법체계와 삼종 지관의 관문으로 이루어져 있다. 천태학에서의 인문치유에 대한 탐색에 서는 인문치유의 진리관과 인문치유의 범위, 인문치유의 다양한 방법으 로 나누어 탐색하였다. 첫째 천태교법의 시원인 오시교판을 통하여 오 시(五時)의 경교에 들어있는 진리관에서 인문치유를 탐색하였다. 오시 는 법화경 장자궁자의 비유에서 체계화한 교판으로 근기에 따라 미혹한 중생의 번뇌를 치유하여 구경의 진리를 증득해가는 과정을 보여주었다. 둘째는 인문치유의 범위와 한계를 천태교법에서 고찰하였다. 천태의 오탁의 수행론에는 개인의 정신적 문제로부터 사회문제 시대적 문제에 이 르기까지 인생고의 치유를 보여주었다. 셋째는 인문치유의 다양한 수행 법을 천태의 중요한 수행법인 오종법사행과 사안락행 삼법행에서 고찰 하였다.
이같은 인문치유의 특성이 천태학의 교문과 관문에 잘 갖추어 있다. 천태학의 교문(敎門)에는 종교와 철학의 기반이 되는 인간존재의 가치 나 세계관 인생관을 매우 체계적으로 정리한 교법체계를 가지고 있다. 특히 천태학의 관문(觀門)에는 인생고의 치유에 매우 합당한 다양한 관 법이 들어 있다.
천태의 관문에서도 인생의 생사를 초래하는 근본 번뇌인 견혹(見惑) 과 사혹(思惑)을 지관수행으로 치유하고 있다. 이같은 일련의 과정은 인 문치유에서 잘못된 논리 잘못된 가치관이나 세계관으로 인하여 발생하 는 고통이나 건강상태를 알아내어 이를 진단하고 이에 맞는 적절한 처 방을 내리도록 한다는 철학적 치유기능을 보여준 것이라고 할 수 있다.
This research begins by considering whether the study of Tiantai enables humanities therapy, and examines how humanities therapy can be applied to Tiantai Zhiyi in curing anguish.
As the humanities are based on literature, history, and philosophy, the curing feature of the humanities can be divided into three features pertaining to the curing abilities of literature, history, and philosophy. Here, the study of Tiantai is closely related to the speculation system of philosophy, so the philosophical curing feature is highlighted. Those philosophical cures start from understanding humans, and are composed of an analytical and ethical understanding of the fundamental pain of humans. The study of Tiantai consists of the doctrine system of Five Periods and Eight Teachings, and the third class geomancer. In the study of Tiantai, humanities therapy was examined with various methods such as the view of truth and the range of humanities therapy. First, humanities therapy was examined in the Five Periods System as the basis of Tiantai doctrine. It demonstrated the process of realizing the truth based on perseverance by curing the anguish of a confused monk. Second, the range and the restrictions of the humanities cure were examined in the study of Tiantai. The theory of the conduct of filth demonstrated the anguish in life that arose from an individual's mental issues, and societal and temporal issues. Third, various methods of performing humanities therapy were considered from five Buddhist monks and the doctrines of comfort and death.
Such characteristics of humanities therapy fit well with the doctrine and the practice that gates of Tiantai studies. The doctrine of Tiantai studies has a well-organized doctrine system based on religious and philosophical values. The practice of Tiantai studies has very logical and fair doctrines for curing anguish.
The practice of Tiantai also cure fundamental anguish such as seeing, seducing, and feeling, which determine living and death with accompanying performance. This process of humanities therapy demonstrates the curing abilities of philosophy, and helps diagnose pain and health conditions caused by illogical values or worldviews.
