| 抄録 | 조선후기에 임제종지를 중심으로 출현한 선리논쟁은 한국선의 특색을 보여주는 역사였고 사건이었다. 그 논쟁의 핵심은 백파의 선론을 둘러싸고 벌어진 여타의 비판과 옹호와 반박과 수렴 등의 모습으로 전개되었다. 본고에서는 그 발단에 해당하는 논점을 기존의 많은 논고에서 『선문수경』을 대상으로 간주하여 논의했다는 점을 부분적으로 인정하고, 나아가서 『선문수경』 이전에 출현한 『선문오종강요사기』의 내용을 분석하여 거기에 이미 논쟁의 여러 주제에 해당하는 주장이 이루어졌다는 점을 고찰하였다. 『사기』에서는 선종오가와 관련한 삼종선을 비롯하여 임제삼구, 그리고 임제삼구로부터 분화한 격외선과 여래선과 의리선의 의미 등 다양한 선리에 대한 이해를 『임제록』을 위시하여 『선문강요집』과 『선문오종강요』를 통해서 천착했던 백파의 안목을 엿볼 수가 있었다. 나아가서 백파의 견해에 대하여 초의가 비판한 일곱 가지 주제 가운데 다섯 가지, 그리고 우담이 비판한 네 가지 주제도 『사기』에 이미 드러나 있었다. 이러한 점은 초의와 우담이 비판한 백파의 견해에 대한 내용이 비단 『선문수경』만이 아니었음을 보여준 것이므로, 이후의 비판에 대한 대상과 주제를 보완해줄 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 나아가서 그들 비판의 연원 내지 발단의 역할을 제공해줄 수도 있을 것이다. 그 때문에 이후로 백파의 선리논쟁에 대한 이해는 『선문수경』을 넘어서 우선적으로 『사기』에서도 찾아보아야 할 필요성이 제기되었다. 따라서 임제종지에 대한 백파의 견해는 50대 후반의 저서로부터 79세 때 저술한 『법보단경요해(法寶壇經要解)』에 이르기까지 지속적으로 견지되어 있음을 엿볼 수가 있는데, 그 직접적인 단초를 『사기』에서 찾아볼 수가 있었다.
The criticism of zen-theory, which appeared in the late Joseon-Dynasty, centered on the end of Línjizong, was a history and an event that showed the characteristics of Korean-zen. It may be natural to think that the history of the so-called Korean-zen has been around the end of Línjizong, but it is unique that the controversy over the relatively short end of Línjizong has continued for over a hundred years. The core of the debate was the criticism, advocacy, refutation and convergence of other criticisms surrounding Backpa-Geungsun's zen-theory. In this paper, I partially acknowledged that the arguments corresponding to the beginning were discussed in many existing papers by considering the subject of the Seonmoon-soogyeong, and furthermore, I analyzed the contents of the previous Seonmoon-Ojong-gangyo-Sagi of the Seonmoon-soogyeong and examined that there were already various arguments on the subject of the debate. For example, in the Seonmoon-Ojong-gangyo-Sagi, the understanding of the three types of Zen related to the five Zen-sects, Línji-sānju, and various concepts differentiated from Línji-sānju, including Línjilu, and the Seonmoon-gangyojip and Seonmoon-gangyojip, The Backpa-Geungsun's perspective, which was studied deeply through SeonMoon-Ojong-gangyo, was also seen. For example, five of the seven topics criticized by Choui-uisoon about Backpa-Geungsun's views, and four topics criticized by Udam-honggi were already revealed in the Seonmoon-Ojong-gangyo-Sagi. This is because the contents of Backpa-Geungsun's views criticized by Choui-uisoon and Udam-honggi showed that they were never Seonmoon-soogyeong, so they can complement the subject and theme of the criticisms and also provide the role of origin or origin of their criticism. Since then, the understanding of Backpa-Geungsun's the criticism of zen-theory has been suggested to be found in the Seonmoon-Ojong-gangyo-Sagi, which is before the Seonmoon-soogyeong. Therefore, the Backpa-Geungsun's view on the end of Línjizong is consistently claimed from the writings of the late 50s to the Buppbodangyeong-Yohae written at the age of 79, and the direct appearance of the works can be found in the Seonmoon-Ojong-gangyo-Sagi.
