| 抄録 | 필자는 불교 부적의 연원과 전개라는 주제 아래, 불전 속에서 『오명론』의 의미와 중국 전래를 고찰하였으며, 『용수오명론』의 분석을 바탕으로 『오명론』과 『용수오명론』과의 관계를 추정하였다. 한편 20세기 초반에 돈황에서 발견된 불교사본 중에서 부적이 실린 10종의 사본을 찾아냈으며, 이 사본에 실린 불교 부적 중 일부는 일실된 『오명론』 내지 『용수오명론』과 관계가 있을 것이라 추정하였다.
이어 돈황 문서 중 10종 사본의 분석을 통해 돈황 문서에 실린 불교 부적은 「여의륜왕마니발타별행법인」과 「금강동자수심주」, 『불설칠천불신부경』 관련 부적 및 『불설상구리독녀다라니주경』과 성수(星宿) 관련 부적이 포함되었음을 밝혀내었다. 또한 「여의륜왕마니발타별행법인」과 「금강동자수심주」는 『관세음보살부인』에 속한 내용으로, 612년 담마급다가 상림원에서 번역한 140개의 인법(印法) 중 ‘위덕마니륜법’에 해당하는 것임을 말하였다. 그리고 돈황문서 P.2153은 ‘위덕마니륜법의 약설(略說)’에 해당하는 것으로 총 34종 부적이 실려 있음을 말했으며, S.2498과 P.2602는 ‘위덕마니륜법의 원본’ 형태를 보여주는 것으로, S.2498에는 일체안부와 난산부, 관세음수심부, 관세음단법 만다라 등이 추가되었고 P.2602에는 5종의 부적과 3종의 단오 부적이 포함되었음을 말하였다.
한편 『불설칠천불신부경』에 실린 부적을 분석하는 가운데 『칠천불신부경』의 저본인 S.2708에 비해 P.2558과 P.3022는 온전한 경문을 싣고 있으며, P.3022의 내용 검토를 통해 『불설칠천불신부경』이 『불설익산경』과 동일한 경전임을 말하였다. 또한 불교 부적이 실린 문서의 부적 공관표(共觀表)를 제시하여 향후 연구자를 위한 편이를 제공하였으며, 이외에 『불설상구리독녀다라니주경』에 실린 부적과 성수(星宿) 관련 부적을 간략히 설명하였다.
이상의 내용은 최근 불교 부적에 대한의 연구가 확장되는 상황에서, 불교 부적을 연구하는 자들을 위한 좋은 자료가 될 것이다.
To explore the origins and transformations of Buddhist talismans, the researcher has examined the meanings and Chinese transmission of “Wǔ míng lùn” in Buddhist Sutras and estimated the relationship between “Wǔ míng lùn” and “Lóngshù wǔ míng lùn.” In the early 20th century, ten manuscripts containing a talisman were identified among the Buddhist manuscripts found in Dūnhuáng; the researcher estimates that some of the Buddhist talismans in these manuscripts had some association with the lost “Wǔ míng lùn” and “Lóngshù wǔ míng lùn.”
This paper analyzes the ten manuscripts of the Dūnhuáng, showing that some of the Buddhist talismans in the Dūnhuáng manuscripts were linked to “Nyoirin Omani Nanda Betsugyo Hoin.” In addition, “Jīngāng tóngzǐ suíxīn zhòu,” “The Sutra of Seven Thousand Buddhas and Divine Talismans,” and the talismans were linked to “The Dhāraṇí Incantation Scripture of Jāṅgulī, the Poison Woman” and the stars. “Nyoirin Omani Nanda Betsugyo Hoin” and “Jīngāng tóngzǐ suíxīn zhòu” contained content derived from the “Talisman-seals of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva” applicable to “Wēi dé mó ní lún fǎ” among the 140 seals translated by Tanmojiduo in 612. P.2153 summarizes the content of “Wēi dé mó ní lún fǎ.” S.2498 and P.2602 show the “original text form” of “Wēi dé mó ní lún fǎ.” S.2498 has safe-delivery talismans and Guānshìyīn suíxīn fú talismans added. P.2602 includes five types of talismans and three types of Duānwǔ talismans.
In contrast with S.2708 in the original script of “The Sutra of Seven Thousand Buddhas and Divine Talismans,” P.2558 and P.3022 contain a complete sutra. This study reviews the content of P.3022 and shows that “The Sutra of Seven Thousand Buddhas and Divine Talismans” and “The Sutra of Yì suàn” are the same scripture. In addition, it provides a common table of talismans found in five types of documents that contain a Buddhist talisman. It offers a brief explanation of the forms of talismans in "The Dhāraṇí Incantation Scripture of Jāṅgulī, the Poison Woman" and talismans related to the stars.
