“Gāndhārī Dhammapada”is an oldest manuscript from Central Asia, which are kept in Paris and St. Petersburg since more than hundred years after so-cold Central Asian fever, showing the important information for the relationship between the traditional Brahmanism and newly developed Mahāyāna Buddhism, and also between proper Indian and Central Asian Buddhism. In this article, I tried to get a new aspect of not only Buddhism, but also of an influence of northern India and Central Asia, especially Eastern Iranian language, Khotanese and Tocharian, based on linguistic and philologic studies. |
