抄録 | This article explores how the notion of stasis has shaped the study of Qing Mongolia. In particular it investigates Mongol visual culture in order to reveal how Qing rule and the success of its imperial consolidation was less a stationary monologue of Manchu-Buddhist imperial rule than an on-going fragmented discursive practice.
