The Tibetan Buddhist Tsong kha pa's 'Great Exposition of the Stages of the Path' ('Lam rim chen mo') advocates meditation on mothering as a way of learning to value other people as equal to oneself. Feminist Sara Ruddick's 'Maternal Thinking:Toward a Politics of Peace' describes mothering as a social practice that leads to development of an ethical stance of nonviolence.
