| 抄録 | This paper aims at spelling out the rationale of reconstructing in Sanskrit those philosophical and other Buddhist texts not available in it from their Tibetan or Chinese translations. The first section presents an outline of the aspects of the diversified culture which flourished in the Indian subcontinent within the framework of a broadly unifying civilization，while the second brings out importance of Sanskrit as a common medium of intellectual exchange contributing to widening and deepening of vistas of comprehension. The last section highlights the need and necessity of embarking upon such a project and shows the shortcomings of accomplishing it otherwise. |
