抄録 | An analysis of the place, function and meaning of the comic in zen. though the comic spirit and perspective,as well as comic techniques, are a central feature of zen, particularly in its classical period, scant attention has been paid to their importance. the essay illustrates and analyses this significance in terms of the zen master as clown figure and comic midwife; the relation between the comic twist and sudden enlightenment; comic iconoclasm and the folly of self; comic freedom and the freedom of enlightenment. |
