抄録 | Buddhist-Sikh study has attracted relatively little attention in academic circles despite the existence of more material than might be expected. This article looks at some indications of Buddhist influences on the genesis of the Sikh religion. A wider thematic comparison of the two traditions shows striking points of similarity in doctrine, ethics and meditation. This suggests a wider potential role for functionalist pragmatic criteria in interfaith dialogue. |
