唐高宗永隆二年(684年)開鑿的一組造像龕，造像具典
型的盛唐風格. 這組龕像的功德主為唐室中央派往隴右的
巡察使及地方陪同官吏. 他們在炳靈寺開龕造像，充分說
明唐代炳靈寺所處的位置十分重要，尤其是當與吐蕃的關
係十分複雜. 炳靈寺處於 "唐蕃古道" 的交通要衝，許多
有關唐蕃關係的重大事件在炳靈寺均有實物資料的記載，
故這批巡使的使命可能與吐蕃有著某種聯係.
In the Binglingsi Grottoes, there are ten niches which were built in and year of Yonglong of Gaozong Of the Tang dynasty and are numbered 41-58 now. So the statues in theniches bear a typical style of the Prosperous Tang pened. The niches were built by inspectors whO was sent tO Longyou by Emperor, and the accompanying local officials. It indicates clearly that Binglingsi was an important place in the Tang dynasty, especially at thattime when Tang had complex relations with Tibetan. Once an important caravan stop on theSilk Road, Binglingsi served as a hub of occurrence and development of the relations betweenTang and Tibetan. Many great events concerning the relations of them can be found on therecord of the Binglingsi Grottoes. Thus we infer that mission of the inspectors might relateto Tibetan. |
