抄録 | It is necessary for a Buddhism practitioner to have the inside and the outside good roots which help developing the skilful wisdom,and thereby approaching to meditation. Before attaining profound meditation,one must practice concentrating and purifying one's mind.
A Buddhism practitioner will not be released from the world of sensuous desire if he can not have an undiverted mind while practising meditation. Thus, a practitioner should cultivate the outside roots first. Mainly speaking,there are five outside roots:alms giving,keeping precepts showing filial piety to parents and the elderly respecting the Triple Gem along with unceasing offering,and reciting the doctrine as well as carrying out the teaching of the Buddha.
The cultivating of the inside roots can help approaching to passionless meditation. There are five exercises which are helpful for meditating. The five exercises are counting breaths, contemplating the body as loathsome,spreading a spirit of unlimited compassing,contemplating things according to the Law of Dependant Origination,and intently reciting the name of a Buddha. |
