| 抄録 | This treatise is regarded as compulsory reading for all followers of the Shingon School of Esoteric Buddhism in Japan，and is usually known by its abbreviated title of Bo-dai-shin-ron or Hotsu-bo-dai-shin-ron. It deals with the 'generation of the thought of enlightenment,' i.e. concentrating the mind and generating the aspiration to attain enlightenment，and the 'attainment of buddhahood in this body,' i.e. attaining enlightenment in the physical body，and also discusses differences between Exoteric and Esoteric Buddhism.
This work has traditionally been ascribed to Nagarjuna, but this ascription has been considered spurious by many scholars past and present. |
