抄録 | The article discusses historical accounts of sectarianism in Japanese Buddhism during the Meiji period of Japanese history in relation to modernization. It is said that Buddhist historians of this period offered accounts that served the interests of the state and of unification between sects through the New Buddhism Movement, while telling the stories of individual sects as part of a broader narrative of Japanese Buddhism. |
