| 抄録 | 조계종 승려는 출가에서 입적까지 교육을 이수해야 한다. 교육에는 기본교육 과정의 공부와 연수 교육이 있다. 연수교육은 매년 교육받는 제도이다. 기본교육 과정은 출가해서 몇 년간의 공부로 조계종의 중요 사업 중의 하나이다. 기본교육 기관으로는 사찰 승가대학·기본선원·중앙승가대·동국대학이 있다. 이외 공부를 더하기 위해서는 전문대학원이나 특수대학원 등에서 공부할 수 있다. 2010년 이래 조계종 교육원에서는 기본교육 중 하나인 사찰 승가대학의 학제에 변화를 시도해 왔다. 10여 년간 교육개혁 불사가 전통 교육방법보다는 진보적인 입장만을 수용하 다보니, 다시 옛 전통방식으로 돌아가자는 의견도 있다. 급변하는 사회와 출가자 부족 등으로 승가교육을 재고해야 하는 중요한 시점에 있다. 조계종의 승가 교육은 곧 한국불교의 미래이다. 이에 옛 전통방식을 배제하지 않고, 현대적인 아이템과 교육환경을 접목시키는 일이 매우 중요하다.
The Buddhist monk or nun of the Jogye Order must complete his or her education from leaving home until the entry into Nirvana.
Regarding the education, there are studies and the training education of the basic educational program. The training education is a system in which the education is received every year. As to the study for several years after leaving home, the basic educational program is one of the important businesses of the Jogye Order.
Regarding the basic educational organizations, there are several institutions, including temple Buddhist priesthood university, the fundamental Seonwon, Central Buddhist Priesthood University, and Dongguk University. Other than these, in order to study more, one can study at a professional graduate school, a special graduate school, etc. Ever since the year of 2010, at the Jogye Order Education Center, there was an attempt for the change of the school system of the Temple Buddhist Priesthood University, which is one of the basic education institutions of the Jogye Order. As the educational reform of the Buddhist service, which had lasted for over 10 years, had accommodated only the progressive position rather than the traditional educational method, there has been the opinion, too, that we should return to the old, traditional method again. Due to the rapidly changing society, the insufficiency of the people who leave home, etc., we are at a critical time point when we must reconsider the Buddhist priesthood education. The Buddhist priesthood education of the Jogye Order decides, rightly, the future of the Buddhism of Korea. As such, without excluding the old traditional method, the work of grafting its educational environment onto the modern item is very important. |
