| 抄録 | 『정토혹문』은 정토 및 왕생의 문제와 관련하여 26항목의 문답을 통하여 그 의문점을 해결해주고, 나아가서 정토왕생dp 대한 믿음을 지니도록 하고 직접 누구나 가능한 다양한 수행법을 제시해주는 안내서에 해당한다. 『정토혹문』의 내용은 크게 네 가지 주제로 나누어 볼 수가 있다.
첫째는 정토의 왕생에 대한 기본적인 성격을 이해시켜주고 있다. 여기에서 제시하는 정토는 유심정토이고 미타는 자성미타로서 궁극적으로 성불의 방편설로 제시되어 있다. 그런데 방편은 차별이고 그 궁극은 평등한 까닭에 다양한 수행법으로 제시되어 있다.
둘째는 정토에 왕생하는 조건에 대한 것이다. 정토에 왕생하는 것은 누구나 가능하지만, 제대로 왕생하기 위해서는 깨쳐야 한다. 그러기 위해서는 불퇴전의 정진이 필요하고 정토에 대한 의심을 타파해야 한다.
셋째는 정토에 왕생하는 데에는 감응의 차별이 있다. 따라서 4종의 국토가 있고, 16가지의 인연의 차별이 있다. 그렇지만 궁극적으로는 아미타불의 위신력으로 누구나 언제든지 왕생의 길이 열려 있다고 말한다.
넷째는 정토에 왕생하는 수행방법에 대한 것이다. 여기에는 왕생의 원리로써 누구나 자신의 마음을 청정하게 유지하는 것이 필요하다. 이에 발심을 하고 원력을 세워서 일심으로 염불하면 십념에 왕생이 가능하다고 말한다. 여기에서 말하는 십념은 곧 일심을 벗어나지 않는다. 때문에 일심으로 수행한다면 관상법과 억념법과 중행법의 삼문수행을 비롯하여 십념법과 칭명염불 등을 통하여 누구든지 왕생이 가능하다고 말한다.
『정토혹문』에 보이는 정토에 왕생하는 의문의 해소와 그 수행법에 대한 자세한 설명은 이후로 수많은 정토관련 전적들에 수용되었다. 특히 명나라 시대에 다수 등장했던 정토관련 서적을 비롯하여 조선시대에도 『淨土寶書』 및 『栢庵淨土贊』을 비롯하여 『淨土紺珠』 등에도 많은 내용이 인용되어 전승되었으며, 근대에 이르러서도 『淨土讚百詠』 및 『念佛要門科解』, 기타 『參禪念佛文』 등이 속출되었다.
Jingtuhuowen(淨土或問) was written by Tianru-weize(天如惟則) in Yuan(元)-dynasty of China. Jingtuhuowen is guide for sentient beings about the way of Sukkāvatī, that is to say, pure land. And Jingtuhuowen is great variety of presentation for practices. Jingtuhuowen was made of twenty six items. The twenty six items are written in question and answer form.
But the general concepts of Jingtuhuowen are four group.
First group is the basic characters for Sukkāvatī, that is, pure land of Buddhism. Sukkāvatī is depend upon ones mind and Amitabha is depend upon ones mind. Therefore the Sukkāvatī and Amitabha are the expedients for attaining of Buddhahood, but the an ultimate aim is same. There the expedients are distinction between practices.
Second group is some terms for the way of Sukkāvatī. Everyone has possibility for the Sukkāvatī. But the right way for Sukkāvatī necessarily enlightenment. The enlightenment come true through devotion to the pursuit of one’s faith for Sukkāvatī and the result of one’s efforts for Sukkāvatī.
Third group is response for the ways to Sukkāvatī. The responses for Sukkāvatī are diversity. There are four realms, that is to say, four worlds. Moreover, There are sixteen discrimination for karmas. But, when all is said and done by mights of Amitabha everyone and everytime can go to the Sukkāvatī in the end.
Forth group is the methods of practice to attain for Sukkāvatī. The various methods of practice have a common feature, that is to say, maintain one’s pure mind for Sukkāvatī and Amitabha all times. To put it concretely, have awakening mind for Sukkāvatī and Amitabha, pronounce a vow to Sukkāvatī and Amitabha, repetition the sacred name of Amitabha and ten times repetition the sacred name of Amitabha.
Some practical practices in Jingtuhuowen are the method by concept for Amitabha, the method by recollect for Amitabha and the method by united many practices. In the end, Jingtuhuowen have many practices and many notions for Sukkāvatī. Above all, the Sukkāvatī is depend upon ones mind and Amitabha is depend upon ones mind.
