抄録 | In recent years, several images depicting „Two Sitting Buddhas“ have been discovered outside China. The paper aims to argue that the origin of this image should be sought in the ancient Indian cultural area. As the symbol of the Lotus Sūtra par excellence, this image closely related to former Buddhist centers of the Lotus Sūtra worship. Now, we can considerably extend the distributing area of the Lotus Sūtra culture: in the western direction from Khotan via Hodur and Gilgit to Loriyan Tangai and in China from Yungang and Longmen to the Shandong peninsula. |
