| 抄録 | 선문답은 선에 참여한 사람들이 선의 수증에 대하여 주고받는 문답이다. 그러나 굳이 묻고 답변하는 형식을 고수하지는 않는다. 침묵도 가능하고 혼자서 묻고 답변하는 경우도 가능하다. 그 경우에는 다만 납자로 하여금 향상의 길을 가도록 제시해주고 점검해준다는 내용이 포함되어 있지 않으면 안된다.
그러기 위해서 선지식이 활용하는 문답에는 반드시 납자의 자량이 어느 정도인가를 점검하여 그에 상응하는 가르침으로 이끌어주어야 한다. 이런 점에서 선문답은 가령 단견에 집착해 있는 납자에게는 긍정의 방식을 활용하고 상견에 집착해 있는 납자에게는 부정의 방식을 활용하기도 한다. 이런 점에서 납자를 상대한 선지식의 응대는 반드시 일괄적이지도 않고 정해진 모범답안이 있는 것도 아니다. 이런 점에서 선지식이 제시하는 답변에는 아직 수행의 과정에 놓여 있는 납자가 가장 우선적으로 해결해야 하는 분별과 집착과 망상을 단절시키는 수단이 드러나 있다.
그것이 곧 선문답에 들어 있는 무분별심의 종지이고, 무차별심의 본체이며, 무집착심의 근본이다. 이것을 본고에서는 각각 언어적인 중도와 내용적인 중도와 실천적인 중도의 입장에서 고찰해 보았다. 이것은 선에서 제시하고 있는 중도의 개념이란 반드시 향상의 길로 나아가는 것을 겨냥하기 때문이다. 그래서 선문답은 반드시 그 문답에 참여하는 납자를 깨침의 길로 이끌어가는 수단이지 않으면 안된다. 때문에 대개의 경우에 언설로 표현되는 까닭에 동시에 그 언설의 초월이 가능하도록 제시해주는 것이기도 하다.
The seon conversations is so called, question and answer exchange between seon master and their disciple. So seon conversations is an expediencies for enlightenment seon practices. Seon-conversations is consist of seon-master and pupil, or more than. There are many types of seon conversations. First, seon master is asks and disciple is answers. Second, seon disciple is asks and master is answers. Third, disciple is asks but seon master is keep silents. Forth, disciple is keep silents but master is answers. Fifth, seon master and disciple are glare at each other. and so forth.
But the most important purpose of seon conversations is to settlement of questions and to guide for enlightenment in self-discipline. To accomplish these purpose, the seon masters use seon conversations in daily life. So, seon conversations is conversations of seon, not conversations about seon.
In case of seon conversations, one of the seon master and disciple is enlightenment without fail. If not, seon conversations is not formed. To seon conversations is come to being, as follow, three types are necessarily. First, one is enlightenments and the other is confusions. Second, one is confusions and the other is enlightenments. Third, both are enlightenments. If not, seon conversations is not come to being.
That is to say, the true embodiment of seon conversations is enlightenment the seon conversations by disciple. Also that is the best sample for Middle Way in seon conversations and embodiment for seon conversations. So the Middle Way in seon conversations are so called non-discrimination, non-attachment and enlightenment. Here non-discrimination is equality of mind, non-attachment is emancipation from worldly attachments, and enlightenment is evil passions of mind. Here, we advocate with the settlement and application of seon conversations. It is necessary in modern times about seon conversations.
So, these essays are an attempt to settlement the truth of seon conversations with the measure of explanations and its methods. But, this is not the only settlement of seon conversations. Because of seon conversations have not its answer, merely just hint about settlement of questions and guide for enlightenment in self-discipline.
That is the characteristic and attractive of seon conversations. It is the difficult point and dangerous point to approach of seon conversations. |
