| 抄録 | 본 논문은 『삼국유사(三國遺事)』와 관련한 두 가지 문제를 다루었다. 첫째는 『삼국유사』의 내용이 가지는 다양성, 많은 분야에서의 접근을 가능하게 하는 종합성 외에, 『삼국유사』만의 흡인력과 재생산력의 원천은 어디에서 비롯되는 것일까 하는 의문이다. 둘째는 『삼국유사』의 독특한 사료 선정과 채록방식을 통해서 일연스님이 의도한 것은 무엇일까 하는 점이다. 첫째 문제와 관련하여, 논자는 『삼국유사』의 사료선정과 채록방식이 대승 경전의 구성기법과 유사한 부분이 있음을 밝히고자 하였다. 『삼국유사』는 사료와 사료를 병렬적 혹은 중층적으로 배치하고, 혹은 주요 사료를 중심으로 주요 사료의 사실성을 확인하는 사료를 병렬적 혹은 중층적으로 조직한다. 그리고 각각의 항목들이 다시 다른 항목들과 때로는 편목을 넘어서 사실성을 확인하는 코드로 작동하도록 사료를 재구성하여 채록하는 것이다. 이것은 앞서 대승경전이 스스로 불설로서의 정통성과 권위를 획득해가는 방식과 대단히 유사하다. 둘째 문제와 관련하여, 논자는 『삼국유사』의 ‘유사(遺事)’라는 명칭의 의미를 재해석하고자 하였다. 일반적으로는 ‘유사(遺事)’는 『삼국사기』의 기록에서 누락된 부분을 보완한다는 의미에서 ‘빠뜨린 이야기’로 해석하는 경향이 있다. 하지만 ‘유사(遺事)’는 ‘빠뜨린 이야기’가 아니라 ‘남겨야 할 이야기’라는 의미로 사용되었다. 일연의 독특한 사료선정과 채록방식은 ‘남겨서 보여주어야 할 이야기’를 구성하는 대승경전의 구성방식과 대단히 유사하기 때문이다.
This thesis dealt with two issues related to the Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms (三國遺事). First, in addition to the diversity of the contents of the Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms and their comprehensiveness that makes it accessible in many academic fields, an important question is where does the source of the attraction and reproductive power of the Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms come from? Second, what is the intention of Il-yeon through the unique style of selecting and recording of historical sources of this work. Regarding the first problem, the author tried to clarify that the style of selecting and recording of the sources of the Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms is similar to the construction technique of the Mahayana Sutras. The the Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms arranges historical sources and historical materials in parallel to each other or in multiple layers, or organizes historical sources that confirm the truth of major historical sources in such a structure. And each item is reconstructed and recorded so that each item may work as a code that checks the truth of other items and sometimes beyond the catalogued items. This is very similar to the way Mahayana Sutras acquire its legitimacy and authority as Buddhist scriptures. Regarding the second problem, the writer attempted to reinterpret the meaning of the name “Memorabilia (遺事)” in the the Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms (三國遺事). In general, “Memorabilia (遺事)” tends to be interpreted as “missing stories” in the sense of supplementing the missing part of the History of the Three Kingdoms (三國史記). However, the word “Memorabilia (遺事)” was arguably used to mean ‘stories to be left behind’ rather than ‘stories that were left out’. This is because Ilyeon's unique selecting and recording style is very similar to the style in the construction of Mahayana Sutras that comprise the 'stories to be left behind'. |
