| 抄録 | 본 『삼국유사』의 「月明師兜率歌」에는 신라의 향가 중 2가지인 <兜率歌>와 <祭亡妹歌> 그리고 이러한 향가의 배경이 정리되어 있다. 또 말미에는 향가를 지은 승려 月明의 명칭과 관련된 내용이 수록되어 있다. 즉 2개의 향가에 대한 측면과, 작자인 월명에 관한 부분이 함께 포함되어 있는 것이다. 본고는 「월명사도솔가」의 전체구조를 정리하고, 이를 바탕으로 <제망매가>의 내용을 검토해본 것이다. 이 과정에서 「월명사도솔가」의 배경이 되는 우주론은 인도문화에 기반한 불교우주론이 아닌 중국의 우주론이라는 점을 알게 된다. 이는 <제망매가>가 단순히 불교적인 관점만으로는 이해될 수 없다는 것을 의미한다. <제망매가>는 월명이 먼저 죽은 누이의 極樂往生을 기원하며 지은 향가이다. 그러나 여기에는 향가의 찬술 시점과 관련된 ‘齋’와 ‘祭’의 문제 등 이제까지 해결되지 못한 부분들이 존재한다. 본고에서는 祭를 祭文으로 해석해 齋에 대한 보다 분명한 인식을 제시했다. 또 <제망매가> 속에 존재하는 生死觀의 검토를 통해, 향가 속에 불교 이외에도 유교적인 인식이 다수 존재함을 분명히 했다. 그리고 끝으로 <제망매가>를 불교의 대표 교리인 四聖諦를 통해 검토함으로써, 월명의 문제가 그의 바람처럼 완전히 해소된 것은 아님을 밝혀보았다.
Tn 「Dosolga of Wolmyeongsa」 contained in 『Samgukyusa』, two songs of Hyangga of Silla Dynasty, which are < Dosolga > and < Jemangmaega >, and the background of such Hyangga are summarized. And, at the end, the name of the monk Wolmyeong, who composed the Hyangga, is included with its related contents. In other words, the aspects of two songs of Hyangga and the description on the author Wolmyeong are included together. This study summarizes the whole structure of 「Dosolga of Wolmyeongsa」, and based on this, it intends to review the contents of < Jemangmaega >. During this process, it is realized that the cosmology that is the background of 「Dosolga of Wolmyeongsa」 is the Chinese cosmology, rather than the Buddhist cosmology based on Indian culture. This implies that < Jemangmaega > cannot be understood simply with a viewpoint of Buddhist. < Jemangmaega > is a Hyangga, composed by Wolmyeong while praying for his first dead sister's rebirth in paradise. However, there exist some issues that have not yet been solved, such as the problems of ‘upoṣadha’ and ‘funeral ceremony’ related to Hyangga's composing period. This paper interpreted a funeral ceremony as a funeral oration, which presents more clear perception about upoṣadha. In addition, through the review of the life and death view in < Jemangmaega >, it could become clear that there was a significant perception of Confucian in Hyangga in addition to Buddhism. Finally, by reviewing < Jemangmaega > through Saseongje, a representative doctrine of Buddhism, it was clarified that Wolmyeong's problem had not been completely resolved as he had hoped. |
