| 抄録 | 본 논문은 불교의 한국 전래에 있어서 동아시아 해항(海港)문화 전파경로의 존재가 가지는 의미를 검토한 것이다. 동남아시아로부터 한반도에 이르는 문화 전파 경로에서 문제가 되는 것은, 중국을 반드시 경유해야만 하는가 하는 점이다. 본 논문에서는 중국을 경유하지 않은 남방문화의 한국 전파 사례를 모색했고, 지석묘 문화 및 벼농사 문화의 전파는 선행 연구에 의해 해당 사례로 입증되어 있다. 무엇보다도, 관련 유물과 유적의 분포는 북중국을 경유하지 않는 해항문화 전파경로의 존재를 분명하게 보여준다. 중국이라는 문화공동체가 형성된 이후에도 동일한 경로를 경유한 문화전파의 사례를 발견할 수 있을까? 아육왕탑 전승의 전파 경로는 이 부분을 해소할 수 있는 하나의 사례로서 제시한 것이다. 북중국의 내륙을 경유하지 않은 아육왕탑 전승의 전파 경로는, 아직은 더 많은 부분이 해명되어야 하겠지만, 스리랑카-부남-양자강 하구-산동반도-요동이라고 하는 전형적인 해항문화 전파경로에 따른 문화의 전파를 보여준다. 그리고 이로부터 육로의 활성화 여부에 관계없이 꾸준히 문화전파의 경로로 기능하고 있는 해항문화 전파경로를 확인할 수 있을 것이다.
This paper is for explaining the meaning of the propagation path of the East Asian seaport culture in precess of introducing Buddhism into Korea. If it had been passed through China or not is discussed seriously when examining the cultural propagation path from the East Asia to Korea. However, this paper finds some examples of propagating the East Asian culture to Korea without passing through China. Some studies tell that it is proved by introducing the culture of dolmens and rice farming into Korea, and, in fact, whoever examines where and how many relics and ruins related with the East Asian culture are found in Korea, can see the existence of the propagation path of the East Asian seaport culture without passing through the Northern China. Is it possible to find a example of the same cultural propagating path after forming whole the cultural community of China? Propagating path of a story of the King Ashoka’s building stupas can be an answer. The path without passing through the Northern China’s interior, although it still has to be explained a lot more, shows us the typical seaport cultural propagating path from Sri Lanka to Liaodong (遼東) via Funan (扶南), the mouth of Yangtze River, and the Shandong Peninsula. So, this path tells us that it played a steady role of the route of propagating seaport culture whether the overland route was vitalized or not. |
