| 抄録 | 이 글은 현공 윤주일의 정토관과 염불관에 대해 검토한 것이다. 그의 정토관과 염불관을 살펴보기 전에 우선 2장에서는 그의 사상적 토대에 대해 간단히 알아본다. 현공 윤주일은 4종류의 법문과 4승을 제시한다. 4종류의 법문은 교문(敎門), 선문(禪門), 염불문(念佛門), 총지문(摠持門)을 말하는 것이다. ‘교문’은 경전을 배우는 것이고, ‘선문’은 간화선을 말하는 것이며, ‘염불문’은 부처나 보살의 명호를 입으로 염송하고 마음으로 생각하는 것이고, ‘총지문’은 다라니를 염송하는 것이다. 4승은 성문(聲聞), 연각(緣覺), 대승(大乘), 일승(一乘)이다. 현공 윤주일의 정토관과 염불관은 4승 가운데 일승에서 이끌어져 나온 것이다. 3장에서는 현공 윤주일의 정토관과 염불관에 대해 살펴본다. 그의 정토관은 유심정토설(唯心淨土說)을 주장하면서도 타방정토설(他方淨土說)을 수용하는 것이다. 이는 영명연수(永明延壽)의 사상에 영향을 받은것으로 보인다. 또 그의 염불관은 아미타불을 염송하는 것에서 보현보살의 10가지 큰 원과 관세음보살을 염송하는 것으로 확장된다. 이는 그의 4종류 법문 가운데 하나인 염불문에서 자연스럽게 나온 것이다. 왜냐하면 그는 염불문을 부처나 보살의 명호 가운데 하나를 택해서 염송하는 것이라고 했기 때문이며, 그래서 염불의 범위가 보현보살의 10가지 큰 원과 관세음보살을 염송하는 것으로 자연히 넓어진 것이다. 그런데 ‘보현보살’과 ‘관세음보살’은 서로 연결되는 점이 있다. ‘보현보살’에서 ‘보(普)’는 공덕이 두루한 것이고, ‘현(賢)’은 공덕을 베풀 때에 방편을 활용하는 것인데, 이러한 것은 공덕을 갖춘 ‘관세음보살’이 두루활동하는 것과 같은 내용이다. 그래서 현공 윤주일은 『관세음보살보문품(觀世音菩薩普門品)』에서 ‘보(普)’의 10가지 의미를 제시한 것으로 보인다.
In this paper, I will study Hyeongong Yun Ju Il``s veiwpoint of pure land and mindfulness of the buddha. In 2 chapter, before to study his veiwpoint, I study his foudation of thought. He presents four darma talks and four vehicles. Four darma talks are the gate of the buddha``s teachings, the gate of meditation, the gate of mindfulness of the buddha, and the gate of dharani. The gate of the buddha``s teachings is to learn the scripture, the gate of meditation is ganhwaseon(phrase-observing meditation), the gate of mindfulness of the buddha is to chant and memorize the name of buddha and bodhisattva, the gate of dharani is to chant dharani. Four vehicles are sravaka, pratyaya buddha, mahayana(great vehicle), and ekayana(one vehicle). His veiwpoint of pure land and mindfulness of the buddha is derived from ekayana(one vehicle) of four vehicles. In 3 chapter, I study his veiwpoint of pure land and mindfulness of the buddha. His veiwpoint of pure land is to insist mind only pure land and to accept other place pure land. This is influenced by the thought of Yong-ming Yan-shou(永明延壽). His veiwpoint of mindfulness of the buddha is to be expanded to chanting Amitabha Buddha into chanting ten kinds great vow of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva and Avalokittsvara Bodhisattva. This is derived from the gate of mindfulness of the buddha of four darma talks naturally. Because the gate of mindfulness of the buddha is to select and chant one of the name of buddha and bodhisattva. So the realm of mindfulness of the buddha is expanded to chant ten kinds great vow of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva and Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva naturally. And Samantabhadra Bodhisattva and Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva have common point. Pu(普) of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva(普賢菩薩) is that the merits(punya) are spreaded widely, Xian(賢) of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva(普賢菩薩) is to use skillful means when to give the merits(punya). This is the same as Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva to have the merits(punya) acts widely. So he presents ten kinds of meaning of pu(普) in Guan shi yin pu sa pu men pin(觀世音菩薩普門品). |
