| 抄録 | In Chinese Central Asia there are many mural paintings representing the music scenes full of the music instruments. These Scenes appear in the following subjects. 1. The illustrations from the legends of Jātaka and Avadāna. 2. The scenes from the Life of Buddha, such as the attack of Mara, Buddha's sermon and Nirvana. 3. The Illustrations of the contemplation sutra (Sukhāvatīvyūha). The instruments painted on the murals are familiar to the Chinese and they are probably reflecting the ordinary life of the habitants in China and Chinese Central Asia in those days. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the music instruments painted on the murals are different from the modern instruments used by the Muslims and the traditional instruments used by Tibetan in the Buddhist rituals. |
