| 抄録 | 깨침이란 지혜의 터득을 말한다. 때문에 선수행에서 그 궁극적인 목표는깨침인데 그 깨침은 다름 아닌 지혜의 터득을 말한다. 지혜의 터득은 필연적으로 자비를 수반한다. 자비는 중생에 대한 교화로 이어진다. 이에 그 근본은 바로 수행에 바탕한다. 그래서 수행은 깨침이고 지혜이며 자비이고교화이다. 이를 바탕으로 전개된 중국선종은 본래성불의 사상에 근거한일상 속의 실천을 그 목표로 한다. 그것이 소위 조사선이다. 조사선의 시작은 달마 조사로부터 비롯한다. 그러나 조사선풍이 형성되기이전에 이미 소위 선경을 통하여 본래성불의 사상이 전개되었다. 모든보살이 본래의 마음[ 其心] 을 잘 활용한다면 다음과 같은 일체의 승묘한공덕을 획득한다는 『화엄경』의 善用其心, 모든 무명이 중생에게 본래 있었다면 무슨 인연으로 여래는 다시 본래성불이라고 말씀하는 것인가 하는『원각경』의 本來成佛, 悉有佛性의 의미가 佛의 지혜가 유정들 가운데에작용하고 있고, 본성으로서 無垢인 저 진여가 불이평등하며, 佛의 종성에서그 果 곧 佛이 가설되어 있다는 『열반경』의 悉有佛性, 저 망법이 모두聖智라는 『능가경』의 自覺聖智 등이 그것이다. 이와 같은 본래성불 사상의 전개는 중국선종의 선어록에도 그대로 전승되었다. 모든 중생이 부처와 동일한 불성을 지니고 있다는 深信, 혜가의 禪心, 승찬의 信心, 도신의 守一不移, 홍인의 守本眞心, 혜능의 但用此心, 회양의修證卽不無 但莫染汚, 도일의 道不用修, 백장의 體露眞相 등이 그것이다. 본 논고에서는 이와 같은 부처님의 정법안장의 선적인 형성과 그 전개 및 사상적인 전승에 대하여 선어록을 통하여 그 사상적인 계보를 중심으로고찰하였다.
Awakening in Seon Buddhism means attaining wisdom. Seon practice is ultimately geared toward awakening, which is realized wisdom. Attaining wisdom necessarily accompanies compassion. The compassion is eventually related to saving sentient beings. The foundation of all these is practice, which is so-called wisdom, compassion, and saving sentient beings. Chan Buddhism in Chinese, based on the concept of ‘all things being of Buddha become Buddha (本來成佛)’ is geared toward practice in everyday life. It is called Josa Seon. Even though the starting point of Josa Seon is derived from the Indian monk Bodhidharna the concept ‘all things being of Buddha become Buddha (本來成佛)’ already appeared in Chan sūtra. This theory can be shown in the various Mahayana sūtras. If all bodhisattvas, according to the Avataṃsaka Sūtra, can use their own mind, then they can achieve unsurpassed virtue. The Sūtra of Perfect Enlightenment explains the concept ‘all things being of Buddha become Buddha (本來成佛)’ and that the wisdom of the Buddha is utilized in all sentient beings and so the nature of innocent beings is not different with the Tatagatha. According to the Nirvana sūtra, everything has the Buddha nature. The Lankavatra sūtra explains the theory that self-awakening is the eminent wisdom. The concept of ‘all things being of Buddha become Buddha’ was succeeded into Chan analects in China. For example, there are many of the Chan master’s thoughts such as hueike’s the mind of Chan, Dosin’s belief mind, heuineung’s the original nature of mind, and so on. I explore through this article the formulation of Chan from the teaching of the Buddha and the variations and succession of thought through exploring Chan analects texts. Key words: Awakening, Wisdom, Compassion, Sūtras, buddhist-sūtras, the Avataṃsaka Sūtra, the Lankavatra-Sūtra, the Great enlightenment-Sūtra, the Prajnaparamita-Sūtra, the deep faith, the seon mind, the faith and mind, the keeping the one mind, the keeping sincerity mind, the original nature mind, the no contamination mind, from the perfected mind, the manifested truth.
