| 抄録 | 『석마하연론(釋摩訶衍論)』은 『대승기신론(大乘起信論)』의 주석서로, 저자를 용수(龍樹)로 번역자를 벌리마다(筏提摩多)로 지목한다. 하지만 저자 용수에 대한 진위논쟁이 지속되면서, 일본에서는 신라 승려 월충의 『석마하연론』 저술설이 제기되었음에도 불구하고 한국에서 『석마하연론』에 대한 연구가 부족하다. 그래서 본고에서는 『석마하연론』과 신라의 불교사상의 연관성을 밝히기 위해, 우선적으로 『석마하연론』의 저자에 대한 논쟁과 저술시기를 살펴보았다. 그리고 현존하는 『석마하연론』의 사본과 판본 및 『석마하연론』을 인용한 문헌과 이 논의 주석서를 검토하였다. 다음으로 『석마하연론』의 구성과 내용을 정리하고, 말나식에 열 한가지 명칭을 부여하는 등의 독창적인 해석을 고찰하였다. 마지막으로 『석마하연론』과 원효의 『기신론소』를 포함한 신라 문헌의 사상적 연관성을 살펴보았다. 『석마하연론』에 나타나는 원효의 영향은 ‘熟’과 ‘就’로 확인되는 용어적인 측면과 제7 말나식을 독립된 식으로 인정하는 등의 내용적인 측면에서 찾아 볼 수 있었다. 본고의 연구만으로는 오래전부터 제기되었던 신라 승려 월충의 『석마하연론』 저술설을 확정 짓기 어렵지만, 『석마하연론』과 신라의 불교사상의 상관성을 발견하고 그 가능성을 높이는 기회가 되었다.
The Shi moheyanlun (釋摩訶衍論) is an annotated book of the Awakening of Mahāyāna Faith (大乘起信論). This book has been thought to be written by Nāarjuna (龍樹) and translated by Vṛdhimata (筏提摩多). However, many controversies about the writer continued, and there is the hypothesis in Japan that the Silla monk Woulchung wrote the Shi moheyanlun. Although some japanese monk mentioned the writer as Sillan, the study on the Shi moheyanlun is insufficient in Korea. Therefore, firstly, I examined the arguments about an author and the period of creation of the Shi moheyanlun. Secondly, I looked into the manuscripts and wood-block printed books, and the commentaries on the Shi moheyanlun. Thirdly, I organized the composition and contents, and reveal the identity of Shi moheyanlun. Lastly I found the connection between the Shi moheyanlun and the Gisillon so of Wonhyo. From the ideological relation between them, I could develop the possibility that the Silla monk Wolchung is the author of Shi moheyanlun. There are two aspects to show the Wonhyo’s influence over the Shi moheyanlun. The one is the aspect of words as ‘熟 shu’ and ‘就 jiu’. The other is the aspect of contents that they recognize the 7th manas as the separate consciousness. Moreover, the of Shi moheyanlun claims the unique eleven names of manas. Even though it is hard to determine the hypothesis that the Sillan Woulchung is the writer as the fact, the ideological effect of Wonhyo on the Shi moheyanlun reveals the deep relation between the Silla Buddhist thought and the Shi moheyanlun. |
