'Handa dāni bhikkhave āmantayāmi vo : 「比丘們!現在,我告訴你們:

" Vayadhammā sakhārā, 『諸行都是壞滅之法,

appamādena sampādethâti." 應戮力精進不放逸!』

Aya tathāgatassa pacchimā vācā. ' ] 這是如來最後的教示。」

Then the Lord said to the monks : 'Now,monks,I declare to you : all

conditioned things are of a nature to decay -- strive on untiringly.'

These were the Tathāgata's last words.

3. There will be delight and happy state. (Delight and happy state will take place.)

13. The Jambudīpa will become wealthy and prosperous.

14. You have practiced wrongly, (and) I have practiced rightly.

15. He passed away from there, (and) was reborn here.

16. The wanderer saw the Fortunate-one comming.

17. The perceptions arise and pass away (or,cease).

18. The illness of the Fortunate-one arose.

19. He will attain (or,attains) to self-restraint.

20. I have done (or,did) this work. And because I did the work, (my) body is tired, well

then I shall lie down. (or, let me lie down)

7. Here the Tathāgata set in motion the supreme Wheel of Dhamma.

(lit. Here the supreme Wheel of Dhamma was set in motion by the Tathāgata.)

7. Find out the Reverend Gotama whether the reputation so noised abroad (regarding

him) is in accord with the facts or not

8. To him, thus knowing, thus seeing, the heart is delivered from the corruption of lust,

becoming and ignorance.

9. All that is subject to arising is subject to cessation. (Bhikkhu Bodhi)
