Terminology- Taenghwa or Buddhist Painting Taenghwa has been used as a general term substituted Buddhist painting. However, it is improper to call Buddhist painting Taenghwa. The earliest example used the term 'taeng' is the Amitabha painting of Neze museum. In this painting records, taeng means number. So 'taeng' seem to have nothing to do with Buddhist painting. In order to write a good explanatory sentences, we should use the correct term.
